NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER 2010
As you know I stated at this years AGM that I would be taking one or two breaks this year well having been away at the start of July I missed the workshop by Sandy Wilkinson but from the reports of those who did attend it was a good workshop and after the disastrous one last year hopefully a good day was had by all,
All workshops, suppers and coffee mornings ect help with the fund raising for the good of the church and the workshop was no exception raising over £100 for the church.
I was however back home for the garden party on August 14th and what a frenetic afternoon 11 mediums did 72 readings between then them plus a lot of healing took place a lovely buffet was donated and a massive raffle(also donated) was draw the amount of people who attended that afternoon was staggering the total collected that day came to £649.89 from this figure a sum of £100.00 was sent to Norwich church to be donated to the cost of the renovation and upkeep of the grave of spiritualist pioneer Emma Hardinge-Brittten.
May I take this opportunity to say to all who came and worked and supported the church whichever way it was done because every person helps thank you all
A few days after the last newsletter went to press I received the sad news that one of our longest serving church members Mrs Peggy Claydon had passed into the spirit world not only a long serving member but also a dear personal friend and I know you will all join with me in extending our condolences not only to Bertram but also to all his family at this sad time I was also sadden to be unable to attend Peggy’s funeral owing to the fact I was away at the time.
On Wednesday 8th September I will be flying out to Egypt to see the completed work on the clinic that has been built at Karnack as you know all the donations you have given go straight to the clinic as there are no middle men again I say a wonderful thanks to all who have been so generous I have at this moment with 2 weeks to go over1 kilo of paracetemol plus over 1 kilo of vitamin tablet some 200 plus calpol sachets and cash total standing at £325.00 if you could only see the state of these villages you would all be grateful of the life that we have here.
On Saturday 25th there will be a dinner in the church the menu will be TEX-MEX I’m assured it will not be over spicy if you are interested the fee will be £10 by ticket only please see myself or Marian, in my absence for a ticket.
On Saturday 21 August we had a gardening session to tidy up the car park unfortunately only 7 people turned up to help and as the combined again of those 7 reach 500 years it has been decided it’s time to employ a gardener so we will start the process of finding somebody to fill the position
Owing to my trip to Egypt I will be away for the visit of psychic artist Raye Edwina Brown on Sept 11th but Marian will be working with Raye and I wish you all a wonderful evening
I will close now with one small quote from Saint Francis of Assisi
“Where there is injury, pardon”
Yours as always,
Richard
