NEWSLETTER MARCH / APRIL 2011

Once again I sit at the keyboard as the AGM approaches plus the 2nd newsletter of the year is also due as 2011 is now well under way the work in the church goes on a pace

We started the year off with the Memorial service at the beginning of January and as the new year got underway the first event was a coffee morning on the 15th which was well supported and indeed we were quite busy that morning and the church funds benefited also it was a good day to meet friends after all the snow and ice and we raised £151.

On the 5th February we had our church dinner, the menu being a Philippine meal which was quite delicious approx 16 people attended and a great evening was had also kind donation was made to cover the cost of the food and again £141 was raised to go to church funds. A special thanks to Dave Cable and his family for all the hard work and making the dinner so very enjoyable.

As February progressed we had on the 12th a workshop and evening demonstration by John Alexander for all who attended the workshop it was too say the least fascinating plus the evening demo also proved very interesting and an other £150 was added to our funds, again special thanks to Adrian for his organisation of the event The following day saw the latest enrolment service as we welcomed 2 new members into our ever increasing church membership the afternoon induction course, buffet and evening enrolment service again was met with a warm response, I must apologise though for my breakdown whilst reading the enrolment service and I can only thank all those who were present for the healing to help me through especially Alison.

By the time most of you read this newsletter the AGM will be history and as with each year we can only hope the outcome will be a benefit to the church.

I must admit 6 years ago when I stated I would do this for one year I never thought for a minute I would still be writing this newsletter after all this time, but it has been a pleasure my never ending thanks to you all.
