NEWSLETTER JULY/AUGUST 2011

As we enter the second half of 2011 I realise how quickly time and this year are flying by spending some time this week booking hotels and rail travel to Germany for the Christmas markets in Cologne and Frankfurt it must be a sign of age as time goes by so fast

As this half way stage is reached I can inform you I have now obtained the 3 quotes reqired for the updating of the sound system.This was spoken of at this years AGM and it will be discussed at the next committee meeting then it will be put to the membership at an EGM. The work will involve new speakers on both side walls.routing the sound from the organ and microphones through these speakers also introducing a full loop system so whereever you sit in the church anyone with a hearing aid will be able to hear providing their hearing aid has an enhancement button. The small grey sound system that is already in the church and is used whenever I am not there to play the organ will remain but the new system will include a CD player as well so you can see how the system will hopefully improve the quality of the sound especialy when speakers talk on the rostrum. Speaking to the people who came to do the quotes all 3 stated their work load is busy and the time schedule looks (with EGM aproval) as the work being done sometime in September/October/November.

The past 2 months have seen events in the church and work which is always ongoing back in May we had a vist from Steve and Elaine Breame to do a demonstration on trance mediumship

4th June saw our latest coffee morning,these coffee morning have proved very popular and I reciece many calls and questions about these mornings and when construting the years events I try to aim for about 8 in the course of a year some times there are more we raised £190.00 towards church funds
11th June saw the spring psychic supper (ploughmans)many people who attended were quite happy with this type of menu making a change from fish/chips £125.00 again went into the church funds

I have noticed the attendance at all events and church service are down a lot on previous years it is sad to see people struggling but the church is here and I hope an oasis of hope for all who attend.

On 25th June we are expecting a visit from Brenda Button(formerly Hanley) to do this year workshop on” The gentle path to trance” and as I am writing this newsletter a few days before that date I will mention it in my next newsletter

Forthcoming event in the church are on Saturday 30th July when we are holding our Summer Fayre/Garden Party this is from 2pm to about 5pm readings will be at £7.50 this being donated to the Air Ambulance

After that our next event will be a clairvoyant demonstration enening on Saturday 13th August at 7.30pm by Joanne Green from Southend the fee on the door that night is £4. There are so many good mediums on the circirt who I would recomend and I have seen a few in my time I can honestly say to anyone if you can make it on that evening Joanne is among the best that I have ever seen.

A very important event takes place on Friday 15th July with the wedding of Colin and Pauline I know all of you will join me in sending then the best wishes of us all for that day and the future.

Since the last letter to you our church vice president Sylvia has stood down from the task of church housekeeper this job Sylvia has done for many years and again I know all of you will join me in thanking Sylvia for forfilling this roll and wishing her well .

And finally as I finish my thanks goes to all for the support and help given unto myself but mainy too the church because without that help and support nothing can be done
