Once again I’m at the keyboard to bring you all up to date on matters in the church

At the beginning of May was the open day at Stanstead and once again a good day was had by all who went but we had 2 tickets to spare as 2 people were unwell and unable to travel on the day but well done to the lady who flagged down the coaches until she found 2 people who had arrived without tickets at least the members unable to travel got their money back. Many thanks also to the drivers.

15th of May saw another of our coffee mornings and this one raised £204.00 also at this time a donation of £300.00 was given to the church.

The ongoing work in the church included the tarmac at the east end of the church we had an EGM in May and the final bill with VAT was £3207.00 but the result is there for all to see, more work included new curtain rails to replace the old one’s that became difficult to open and close and the cost has come in just under the £200.00 mark many thanks for all the work involved

On 5th June we were to have had a demonstration by Angie Morris but owing to personal matters Angie had to call of at the last moment however the demonstration has now been rescheduled and is going to be on Saturday 20th November at 7.30pm. (Angie sent her apologises)

Some other work to be done in the church, we have had a man come in to give up advice on the replacement of the two fire exit doors this is to include the frames and door steps at this moment we are still awaiting the quotes but you will all know as soon as I do also our neighbour is getting the wall sorted out so hopefully by the time of the next newsletter there may be a result on that as well. Another area that is also being looked at is the sound system and music of the church as some are unable to hear the chair person’s and mediums as they speak so the hope is a complete sound loop plus the electric organ, this has been brought about by the fact the organ in use now is terminally ill and on it’s last legs and irreparable.

Saturday 12th June saw the latest coffee morning and on this occasion £215.00 was raised it is this vital income that enables us to get so much work done to improve the church.

Now lastly as I close please look at the date at the top of your list of special events for the year if the date is 2010 that is ok BUT IF IT STATES 2011 please disregard and destroy as these sheet were mistakenly printed in error and are total false as no date on the 2011 sheet is correct
