NEWSLETTER JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2011

As I write this newsletter it’s the week before Christmas and once again the weather is in a threatening mood but at this stage we have escaped the worst of the weather and hopefully the postponed carol service will go ahead on the 23rd by the time you read this you will know the answer, unfortunately we lost 2 services at the start of December on the 2nd and 5th but were able to reschedule the coffee morning /Christmas Fayre for one week later from the 4th to the 11th December and still raised £278.00 for church funds, our Charity appeal on 9th December raised 148 items for the night shelter and the 2 raffles held (the Christmas raffle and a beautiful painting) on the same evening raised £283.00 also a dolls house that had been donated was sold and to add to the church funds an anonymous donation of £400.00 was given. I can only thank you all as everything in the raffles and charity event were donated

My thanks all goes out to you all who come into the church and help in which ever way you can its not just money but the hard work also done whenever we have a function, a do, or a service, it is deeply appreciated, my thanks to you all

Other events have included the psychic supper on November when £223.00 was raised And on 20th November Angie Morris came and fulfilled her promise to the church after she had to cancel her demonstration back in the summer over 40 people came and again money was raised for the church (£130.00)

The reason I like to inform you all about funds for the church is I feel it’s important that you know how the church is run, (funds coming in and money spent on improvements) etc.

On 13th and 15th December the 2 new fire escape door one in the office behind the organ and the other next to the toilet for the disable were both fitted these were voted for by church members at the EGM, first impressions are the drafts have been completely eradicated near these doors making the church warmer also they are far easier to open if an emergency were to arise plus they also comply with safety and security standards

As I stated at the start I am writing this newsletter before Christmas so I can at this stage hope you all have a good and peaceful Christmas and wish you all a better 2011 and as we say goodbye to 2010 may I thank you all for a wonderful combined effort from everyone to make our church a warm and happy place. Many visiting mediums and visitors have passed kind comments about the ambient atmosphere in our church so many thanks to everyone and lets hope 2011 can be even better for all

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Richard
