As I write this newsletter it’s the early hours of New Years Eve and the last day of 2006, Christmas has come and gone I hope you all had a good time, peacefully or with parties. At this point can I wish everyone of you a great hope for 2007, especially those among us who’s 2006 has been a year of pain and distress.
As 2006 drew to a close December was very successful in the church, on the 8th we had the Antony Nolan evening and £230.00 was raised, we have received a certificate of thanks from the trust which will be framed and hung in the office behind the organ where anyone is free to see it. On 15th we had the Christmas raffle we had 70 items on the table that night every one given by the congregation for which I can only thank you all, £287.00 was raised for church funds, several of you redonated raffle prizes so we had a second raffle on the all mediums night and raised a further £57.00.on Sunday 18th we had the carol service and finally on the 22nd we finished the year with the all mediums service and judging by your comments everyone seemed to enjoy all the services.
The end of December also saw the church being cleared total of furniture for the laying of the new carpet (34 people turned up to the e g m on the15.12.06 and voted in favour of a new carpet) which hopefully will all be completed by the time you are reading this. I have been handed many donations towards the cost of the carpet so far over £800.00 again I can only thank all who donated cash and also the people who came on the Friday to help move all the chairs and tables out of the church
By the time most of you will be seeing this letter I will be in Egypt again taking, this time, Calpol sachets and vitamin, plus things I couldn’t take last year and over £400.00 in cash I’m going to see the progress on the clinic once again I thank all who have given so generously I will give a report in the next letter
Finally can I once again take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a wonderful 2007
Richard
